Once, while paying for my purchases at 7-Eleven, a clerk asked me, "So, are you hunting ducks this morning?"
I'd never hunted ducks or any other animal and had no desire to start.
"No," I said, taken aback.
"Oh," he replied. "Some duck hunters were just here."
As random banter goes, that was a tad bizarre.
